Andrew, I've set up my Gobbler account but I never received a code from Cakewalk when I purchased X3, via Et Cetera music in the UK. Any chance you or someone can have a look at this please? Thanks!

I was excited to try Gobbler, but after installation I noticed that it was using 30% of my CPU. This was idle with nothing queued to transfer. Anyone else seeing this?

And if you don't need it right away, I checked with Gobbler support and you have until December 31, 2014 to redeem the coupon.

I also didn't recieve (was unable to spot) the gobbler key. I can't send a PM at this moment though, as my account has just been created. There is however something else I noticed and wanted to see, if I was just doing something wrong. I can only activate the Gobbler feature in Sonar if I run it in Administrator mode. Otherwise it loads, but stays offline. Anyone else notice this behavior? [Edit: Problem seems to have been solved by the new Gobbler update] P.S. @bentleyousley: For me the CPU usage is small enough to not even show (remains at 0%)

Upgrader from Cake DOS though all to now.. So yes I'm a bit jaded Moving to X2 Pro to X3. Nice features but. I do not get the whole gobbler thing hype on the product. ??? Upload speeds suck at even the fastest connections. So the DAW computer is working while you wait?? This is not a plus for a Sonar upgrade. I have 2 1 TB usb, 2 sata hot's, and a 32gig flash if all fails. Even the youtube thing is pointless. If you can even use this product, you have better tools to do these things and control all your content. You should control you content right? Gobbler? Who's gonna trust them? Cakewalk, hopefully Gibson isnt directing you too much. Pretty soon a tool for Doctors and Lawyers (consumer) I really wish cakewalk would concentrate on displacing Avid Protools as the moniker for DAW'S. Right now Melodyne and comping are the plus for me. The cloud thing must be for your 99.00 home users,,,(gibson) so well see after the upgrade

Are saying you don't see the point in automatic backups to cloud storage, or to how Gobbler implements it? Automatic backups to an offsite server is a fantastic tool. It doesn't matter how large or how many drives you have if a fire wipes them all out, or if you forget to backup that last session or "will get to it tomorrow" and then something goes terribly wrong. Automatic backups of network drives at large companies has been a common practice for many years and for good reason. I for one am happy that such tools are now available for smaller businesses and home users. As for how Gobbler implements this, yes it could be better. But it is the best I have seen so far for studio work. If you know of a better system I would like to know about it.

I'm a bit curious about all these elements... I have opted to run it ony on demand... And as I have no current need for sharing projects, it might be a handy way of sending mixes... But I'm unsure how to set it up to do this or even if it can... I leave no automated timers running on my DAW and no extra programs... Leaving as much to the computer's resources for audio as possible...
Anyone discover this yet?

Gobbler is working great! Some points: - If you have Sonar's versioning on - Gobbler willl backup those too. Turn off versioning if not wanted.
- If you have Sonar's autosave on, Gobler will back those up too. Turn off autosave if not wanted.
- When Gobbler's Auto-backup is on for a project - any change to watched files will cause it to send to the cloud. Pay attention to the above points, and/or turn Gobbler's Auto-backup off for the project your working on if you don't want Gobbler uploading in the background. You can turn it back on after you are done.
I'm not having any problems at all with Gobbler - in my case I've got Sonar's autosave and versioning on, and Gobbler's Auto-backup is on as well. Nice!

I use DropBox for all my music backups that I need. If I copy and paste a project's folder into DropBox, I think I am achieving the same thing as Gobbler. The difference is in cost and manually copying and pasting files. I would love to have DropBox integrated with Sonar. However, if the cost and efficiency of Gobbler gets better, I will want to research that more.

We were told that it was discontinued because Gobbler had moved to version 2 but only release an API for Mac OS X, not Windows.
It's certainly not the case any more because Presonus has Gobbler available in Both Windows and Mac OS X.
