downloading the patch......

How in the heck do you download the patch using Free Download Manager...?????

If I drag the link to FDM all it gets is the html page and NOT the file.

I HAVE to use FDM or I can not get the file...I use my phone for internet and it knocks me off the internet when I try to download a file this size....and I can't resume the download using firefox like I can with FDM.

In FDM in Options > Settings > Downloads > Monitoring, the FireFox box should be checked. Then all you need to do is click the link,  FDM will intercept the download request and popup the FDM download dialog.

you don't need to do it via "browser monitoring" normally with the store (my account .. hover over the link.. copy the link location.. with right click.

then go over to FDM and use the "+" icon.. IF the download window isn't show.

some websites will stop multi-part threads, so it doesn't work with everything.

just tried it in my account, works fine.. I'd suggest downloading at night there in the US.. and set FDM to switch off the pc also.

but via the web page it re-directs.. so I guess only via "browser monitoring" you get the 2nd link

I finally got it to work and got the file downloaded.  The problem was...it needed to update to a newer FDM file.  Then...I had to go into FireFox and enable the FDM extension (I just updated FireFox to ver. 25) so I guess I had to update the extensions too.

So all is well now.  Thanks guys...!

there are a few firefox extensions to do simular type downlaods.. and they might be clashing with it also..

I just got the patch for x3c.. using firefox 25.. you might wanna get yaself filehippo updater, which will show you whats up to date installed on your machine (it's none intrusive unlike other things)

    http://www.filehippo.com/updatechecker/

and you can turn off "beta" filter etc
