Adding a simple drum track in place of a click track

Hi there,

I hate playing along to click tracks while trying to laying down rhythm.  How can I create a simple drum track clip to play along with without getting into the MIDI stuff?
I'm using Sonar X-2 Producer.

You have bunches of drum audio files to work with in the Loops and One Shot library. Depending on when you picked up X2 Producer, there was also a Content Club drum loop library from Smart Loops called "SL Med Straight Rock 1" that may be in your store account.

Rick5 - I do the same. I can be more imaginative when I'm playing against a beat than against a click. So yes, I do that for all songs. I can always bring out the click if needed.

Two internal 2TB SSDs laptop stuffed with Larry's deals and awesome tools. Studio One is the cat's meow as a DAW now that I've migrated off of Sonar. Using BandLab Cakewalk just to grab old files when migrating songs.

You can also use the step sequencer to create a simple kick/snare pattern (or add some hi-hats and cymbals if you like), turn it into a groove clip and drag it across the length of your project.  Step sequencer is terribly easy to use, especially for simple stuff.
