Sonar X2 crashes when loading Ivory in an existing project

Hello all - hopefully someone here has a solution.

I have a project with lots of instances of Play and Kontakt, plus one instance of Ivory.  The project now crashes whenever I gets to the point of re-loading Ivory, where it used to load just fine before (Ivory has been in the project for quite a while).  Using Safe Mode, I can now get the project to open by telling it "no" when it asks to load Ivory.  However, when I go to reload Ivory, the project crashes again.  For my next step, I open the project again in Safe Mode, and save the project under a new name WITHOUT Ivory loaded.  However, this new project STILL crashes on open when it gets to the point of loading Ivory, even though I deleted the Ivory soft synth before saving!  Why would it still attempt to load Ivory after I deleted it before saving the project?

Next step was to delete the midi track Ivory was associated with, and now I can re-open the project without a problem.  However, I still can't load Ivory without crashing the program.  I tried loading Ivory into other projects, and it loads fine.  It's just this particular project file I am having difficulty with.

My guess is that somewhere Ivory is still "living" inside this project, and opening it again causes the project to crash.  Is there any way to "fully" delete Ivory so I can open it again clean?  This project relies upon Ivory pretty substantially so I need to get it to load.

Thanks to any and all with suggestions...

Hi John. I have had similar problems occasionally with Sonar X2. I thought it was just a bad save and tried remedying by opening a new project and copying over .
Then i discovered that some of my instrument plugins were not defined properly in the Midi/Audio assignments. In some cases my "Master" bus was not even assigned.
I'm not sure what your issues are but you might check your in/output assignments while in Safemode.
Cakewalk might be interested in your problem. tc
