Craig, Thanks very much. I actually get (what I think) are really good sounds with RealGuitar, usually with nothing more than a little high-pass and sometimes some air (high shelf); however, the particular sound in this video is a bit different and I like it.
I played actual acoustic guitar on 1,000s of records over the years but due to a hand injury I can only play well enough now for writing. (I was a keyboard and drum machine session player who could also lay down pretty solid acoustic rhythm parts). RealGuitar really makes it easy to get good strummed guitars. For solo lines and finger-picking, I use RealGuitar, Acoustic Legends HD, Fab Four, and some other things.
John, I don't know if any EQ was used, but I do know that RealGuitar sounds different so I was curious what it would take to transform RealGuitar into that sound. I was just hoping someone had better EQ skill than me. I can hear very subtle differences but it often takes me a long time to find the right EQ band to do what I want. No worries.
