SONAR X1 LE e INTEGRA-7
Hello, I write from Italy. I'm trying to use SONAR X1 LE with the ROLAND Integra7. Can not set the PROGRAM CHANGE on every track and I can not view the exclusive messages that contain these parameters. Can anyone help me? What are RPN and NRPN? THANK YOU

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/NRPN Sonar has a sort of bug that will hide PG changes from the events list. I have had to open the files in Cubase or a freeware midi editor to delete them sometimes. Mostly they are GM patches so are correct, but sometimes I wish to change them. Open the track properties dialog and try setting them there first. Sometimes the hidden PG data is in the very first bar of the track. Try slip editing to the first note played.

not a big problem, I use it everyday and often to edit downloaded MIDI files. Most times it works OK to use the "properties" dialog box and change to a new sound ( PG) But sometimes there might be a PG change in a track in the middle of the song.

Forgive me if I still take advantage of your kind availability. It seemed to me then to understand that with SONAR can set the instrument that applies to the whole track but I can not change the instrument at a certain point in the track. In fact I'm trying to change the MIDI FILE so that on track 1, which exclusively dedicated to the keyboard sound live, I change the sound that I'm going to play live at every point of the song that I establish. That is, for example, I would start with a organ and at one point of the song go to violins, etc.. But as I understand it this is not possible with SONAR Thank you.

You can change the patch (instrument sound) anywhere in a track in every version of SONAR I have. In my programs, you click Insert at the top and select Bank/Patch Change. Choose the patch you want and the time in the project you want it to change. SONAR X being newer, it may not be where it is in older programs. If not, search Bank/Patch change in the Help file. Welcome to the forum.

Perfect, I found under the Insert menu under BANCH Event / Program CHange. Now I should set in the Preferences tool to use. Now I appear GENERAL MIDI, Roland GS, YAMAHA XG and others. Do not I get the ROLAND INTEGRA-7. How do you put it in so that I can then set the corresponding tools?

You would need the Instrument Definition for the Integra in order to use it's exact sounds. Search the internet and maybe you'll get lucky. From what I've read, it's not hard to write your own instrument definition, it's just time-consuming.

What you can download from Roland with the Integra7: http://www.rolandus.com/products/details/1245/downloads/ Last item on page goes to next link: http://www.rolandus.com/s...ula/integra-7_inst.zipPage of downloading Instruments Definition file. "Sonar Instrument Definition Files for the Integra7 These definition files allows you to select a Live Set, Tone or Rhythm from the Integra-7 and have a product friendly name appear in SONAR software. Please refer to the online help of each SONAR software program for detailed procedures regarding importing an Instrument Definition File."

I thought you were referring to using already made ( downloaded) MIDI files that you could not change the patch. I now see you were just trying to insert PG changes and our friends have given you the correct answer.
