How do you get measure spacing to be even in scores
After some dilligent work, I have a whole score now, 5 parts, TTBB, plus solo. As I worked on this, the measure spacing became very different along the way, with some scores with a few notes, such as a half and two quarter notes being spaced out to half the width of the page, and other measures with several notes, such as 6 eighth notes, and a quarter note would be spaced very compactly, and I could get 5 or 6 measures of this width across the width of the page. How can I even things out, and make the measures fit on the page better? I can't seem to find anything that talks about changing measure width, or putting them on a grid, or anything else. Am I going crazy? How do the rest of you make your scores look nice & even? Thanks for all the tips and time from everyone. I really appreciate that it looks like most of the folks who browse the forums take the time to read all of the posts.

I know what you're talking about and I'm having the same frustrating problem. When you go to print, the size and spacing of measures is uneven and some stretch way, way out and take up almost a whole line. I'll be monitoring your post for the answer, too. And it isn't a resolution, rastral, or landscape vs. portrait issue.

The staff view in SONAR is very handy to those used to standard musical notation, but it is far from being a complete scoring tool. If you need quality score prints you need specialized software, like Finale.

kelly - I don't think markrb will be back for an answer since his post was created nearly 6 years ago! however, jose is right. the staff view in MC is very limited, mainly only meant to help those who read music to write and edit MIDI. for more control over your sheet music you'll need something like Finale.

yeah, you have to google it, tho, you can't find it in the forum itself.

And it isn't a resolution, rastral, or landscape vs. portrait issue. It could depend on whether you're recording the music with a MIDI keyboard or clicking in notes with your mouse, and what the note resolution is. When recording with a MIDI keyboard, what the staff and Piano Roll view are showing is a representation of your performance, and no one has perfect timing, so the notes are not in the exact place to make a neat and tidy printed score. It can take quite a lot of editing to get that recorded performance looking right, or if you have a Music Creator program that provides MIDI Quantization, you can try that. Setting the Quantization can put the notes in the right place, even if you're a little late or early hitting the keys on the keyboard. Search 'Input Quantize' in the help files. Here are a couple images which demonstrate the difference in a score. The first is the actual recording with a MIDI keyboard; the second is after I edited all the notes so it looks good: It's the same passage, mostly, but what took 2 staves in the first image is in one stave in the edited image. Edit: fumble fingers.

Yeah... the music can look rather impressive when the note resolution is set high and the qualtize function has not yet been applied.

The presentation of the event in the concept space is scored by pre-trained models of the dynamics of each concept in the context of the event, which provides a measure of how well the given event matches the evolution pattern of the target event in the multi-dimensional concept space. ___________________ Vlc Player Download

Looks like Crg made a visit.
