[Answered] How to move a composite to another project...

Hi guys.
Loving X3 so far...
OK, so i have this beautiful multi-lane vocal take that i recorded to a reference track from another project (not comp so i get an ensemble of all takes).  I created a separate project to record the vocals so i could set the latency to the lowest value on my audio interface during the performance.
Now i need to move that vocal track and all the lanes into the other project - the multi-track project.  Is this possible?  If so , how? Haven't found the docs on it so far...
Thanks.
cheers!

Open your 2 projects and just drag the track from one to the other. It really is as easy as that.

Make sure in Preferences to check Allow multiple projects open. Forget the exact wording.

Here's where the option is:

  • Edit -> Preferences (Make sure to click the Advanced radio button at the bottom)
  • Then Under the File section, find the Advanced label and click it.
  • Now on the right side dialog, find the 'Allow Only One Open Project at a Time' option and uncheck it.

Are any automation lanes and prochannel/effects settings copied as well?

Bandlab Platinum and every other toy I can get my hands on...and yes I'm way in debt over this obsession...

How about this for a feature request?

Import Project file or Import Project Audio

As far as copying your audio to your new project, you can always export the audio to a broadcast wave file and import it to the new project.

Copy and Pasteshould allow the envelopes to be copied and pasted too. When you do a copy from a project, you should get those options to copy elements associated with the track.

I'm sorry, i'm not getting it... How exactly do i grab the track?  To then drag it, and all the take lanes with it?
I've tried right clicking on all the parts on the far left of the track including the select button.
I can reorder the track, but i can't drag it out of the project window...
What am i missing?

I have two projects open and cascaded.
I don't seem to be able to drag anything outside the window a project is in.  not a track, not a clip...
I have looked for help on this but have only come up with documentations on moving within a project, not between projects.
Is this documented somewhere?   Andrew?
