[Workaround] X3c Loop Construction View
X3c X3c Loop Construction ViewAnyone have a detail tutorial on how this is supposed to work? X3c Loop Construction View = playhead starts moving in the middle of the loop, but sounds as if starting at the beginning of the loop. TV control panel = Playhead starts and sounds as expected.

This is an older article, but a lot of it remains relevant. The Loop Construction window is sort of like a sample editor. It's meant for loop creation and editing for loops that end up being used in the Track View.

this is a great tutorial for an older article Craig. my biggest problem when facing groove clips is creating a clip with effects in the bin. this is the part where we prep the clip before looping is started. 1-record a dry guitar signal to track 1 2- add guitar rig 4 to the effects bin, tweak to your liking 3- drag guitar rig from the effects bin and move it to the clip bin 4- bounce to clips. its seems there is no real way to control the amount of guitar rig added to the signal. sometimes the clip is over distorted, sometimes it sounds good. we are at the mercy of a wildcard of sorts, how strong the signal from guitar rig to the audio signal is. id really like to figure out how to control this signal.

Hi Anderton, Good article, but I did not ask the right question. Let me rephrase, When the LC play button is pressed, why does the time marker start in the middle of the WAV ,instead of the Left side? (This is different from other versions of Sonar I have used and seems like a bug)Correct Sequence of events should be: Play Button> marker moves Left to Right. Sound is heard Left to Right. Fail: Play Button> marker moves Middle, Right, Left. Sound is heard Left to RightThe sound is starting from the beginning to end, but the Marker is visually starting in the Middle of the WAV. In Loop Construction View, the playhead marker is always starting in the middle of the WAV file, regardless if Loop is enabled.

Nope. The question was: "Anyone have a detail tutorial on how this [loop construction window] is supposed to work?" So I provided a link to a detailed tutorial to how it worked, which answered his question. However, it seems that wasn't really the question, so now with the additional clarification, I'll answer that question next.

Okay, now I understand what you're describing, have been able to duplicate the problem, and I believe it IS a bug. What's more, I also think it's worse than what you said, because playback does actually start at the beginning of the loop - but the play cursor in the loop seems to start wherever it feels like starting. However, I also understand why I wasn't having this problem. This is because I almost always edit the Loop in context with other tracks, so I have a different workflow that doesn't reveal this problem. So, I've been using a workaround without even knowing it. Here's the workaround until the bug is fixed: 1. After opening the LC, loop the clip in the Track View. 2. In the Track View, place the Now time wherever in the loop you want playback to begin in the LC (e.g., at the beginning). 3. Use the main transport controls to stop/start. Do not use the play button in the LC window. Now it should work the way you want, assuming "On Stop, Rewind to Now Marker" is checked under Track View > Options. If you don't want to hear the other tracks, solo the track with the loop you're editing.
