Can Melodyne remember it's last window position?

I often have one or two editors open at once when doing vocal edits/tunings.
I don't like to have the windows in the dock, but rather floated somewhere.  But when I close the editor and then go to reopen it, I have to move it again and again.

Is this a way to have Melodyne remember it's last opened position?  I guess this would be applied per-effect-region.

Also, is there a shortcut to open the editor applied to a clip?

If you close Melodyne, it will always reopen docked. Rather than close it, simply minimize it and it will remember its position. I saved a project this way and reopened it, and Melodyne remembered its last size, but not "exact" location. The project opens with Melodyne in view.

If you minimize (rather than close) Melodyne, double clicking the bar at the top of the Region FX (the shortcut you asked about) where you embedded it will restore the window. If you closed Melodyne, it will reopen in the dock on you.

Thanks for the response. This will help.

I posed a similar question a few days ago but I suppose it was worded poorly, nobody responded.

Its not just Melodyne, but also Vvocal.

I believe there should be a default option to come up in whatever size Region FX editor window you want to specify in preferences, in my case maximum full screen. When I am editing intonation my full attention is on the Region FX editor. Weird how they like to tuck half of it behind the track view, making you figure out how to dock it to the bottom and then expand it every time you use it.

The current approach is inconvenient in a big way, and I am surprised there is so little complaining about this on the forum.

But this tip helps out quite a bit. Thanks again for the good advise.

FWIW, I always use the "D" key for anything that's docked (like Melodyne) as opposed to closing the dialog or window.   Another "D" will return it to its previous state.   There's also Shift+D to maximize.

What about a shortcut for opening the editor for the region FX?  Is there one, or is that even an option to customize?

Sorry about that, my ADHD kicks in if a post scrolls to page 2 :( I missed it on you.

I just looked in the X3 reference guide quick and did not find a shortcut for Melodyne (to open it if the Region FX is already created). There is, however, one for V-Vocal (go figure)

    V-Vocal Shortcut keys: (page 1587)
    Command                                   Shortcut
    Open V-Vocal Editor                     SHIFT+V
Create V-Vocal Region FX clip        SHIFT+V

    Melodyne:
CTRL-M (to create clip from selected area) (Page 1050)

Melodyne may have the same functionality for opening (not tested either), but since creating and opening are the same shortcut for open/create, watch if something is selected that you don't want to work with. I personally think the "double click" the FX header is safer.
