Rapture from X3 install

Howdy all

I hope the following makes sense.

Okay, so I can't exactly remember the install process but I do remember a window for Rapture popped up at some point asking for the registration code (I think). I didn't enter this as I already own Rapture from Sonar 7 Pro Suite. From memory, once I opened X3 I then somehow had to re-install my original Rapture, but this is maybe because when I tried to open it it asked me for the code. Anyhoo, I'm now seeing two Raptures in the list. One, my original as v1.22, is authorized and the other, if I happen to click on it asks me for the reg code.

What I'm wondering is, will the unauthorized one disappear after the registration period has timed out, or will it stay there as an annoying option that I'm bound to click on from time to time, and if that's gonna be the case, will it be possible to get rid of it.

Note: If I go to uninstall programs, there is only one Rapture, albeit with 3 instances, v1, v1.1 and v1.22.
Any ideas?

Cheers

Mark

Did the newer version of Rapture get installed in a new directory?

I find it funny that happened. For me the only time I got two versions of Rapture was the full version and LE version. Never two full versions.

I'm not sure about a new directory. When I go to add a soft synth, I see Rapture LE and either just above or just below (I'm at work right now and can't remember exactly) that it says Rapture with an arrow. When I click on that I get a side menu with Rapture twice. The top one is the one that I've not registered and the bottom one is my original. I guess it's not a major issue as I'll no doubt get used to which one to click but it's just that extra click that's annoying.

You'll probably have to remove on of the raptures, but I'm not sure which.  What you should have done is NOT reinstall your old copy of Rapture.  It comes w/ X3 and should have a serial number.  Use that online at the Cake store and your account to get another reg number.  Which might be the way to go.  Or uninstalling both Raptures and using a Custom install from X3 to reinstall that Rapture.  I've got several Rapture #s and they all show up in the account, but not all of them will take.

The easiest thing to do at this point would be to go into the plug-in manager and exclude whichever version of the plug-in you do not want to see.

Alternately, if you want a clean install of Rapture 1.2.2 you could use http://www.cakewalk.com/S...reader.aspx/2007013294 This will remove older versions of Rapture. If you have projects that used the DXi version of Rapture, the synth will not be available in those projects anymore.

Yeah I think reinstalling might have caused the issue but when Rapture popped up asking for the rego code I assumed I'd enter the old one as I knew that was installed. When it would accept it I uninstalled Rapture completely, reinstalled my original and now have the two. There's a rego code in my account for the new one, so maybe I'll just uninstall again and reinstall that one.

I tried the plug in manager but couldn't figure out which was the right one. I only installed the vst version anyway so no dxi to worry about.

Just a finisher.........

To solve the issue I had I uninstalled Rapture again. Deleted any Rapture folders I could find then did a custom re install from the X3 download file and all sorted!

Thanks folks!
