Did anyone here every work in the warehouse Dept at Guitar Center?

Just curious. I have a lot of stuff going on but I was called for an interview today to work "behind the scenes" in the warehouse.

Don;t know if I want it with other self employed projects I have going on..... just wondering if anyone knows about this type of work and is it worth my time or should I just keeping working on my other projects full steam ahead

PS .. Interview is today at 1Pm

I would imagine it consists of:

  • Unloading large boxes from a truck
  • Unpacking said large boxes
  • Breaking down said large boxes

Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!

You can *accidentally* drop plugins bapu wants and then he can by them at a scratch and dent discount.

Plus you can make a fork lift library as a side project.

Years ago one of the car dealers had a parts manager who would sell parts out the back door and pocket the proceeds. Working at that dealership proved very lucrative for him... until he was fired for selling parts out the back door and pocketing the proceeds.

Funny how years later, where I work now, one of the mid-level supervisors was taking company supplies for use in his own business. Someone squealed on him and he was forced to flee the state before he could be tried and jailed. Ironically he was next in line to become department head.

I would, of course, never suggest doing sucha thing.

On the flip side, it never hurts to go in for the interview and check it out. You can always turn it down afterwards.

I worked in the drum department at Guitar Center, Hollywood in the 70's.  If you do a good job in the back, you might get to know management and get a sales position if they like you.
