Sonar X3 came thru for me...

I needed a way to convert a 32 bit 44,100 hertz .wav file to a 16 bit, 44,100 hertz....(Requirements for TuneCore upload). I was able to convert it just fine in X3.

I know it's just a small task, but it was an important one to me. X3 had just the right tools to do the job.

Ah! But I bet you've never bounced!!

Seriously, I've been able to covert 32 bit 44.1KHz to 16 bit since Sonar 6.

Yes I know it's hilarious, but I wasn't able to do it in Audition CS6 !! Their option was 16.8 bit or 32 bit !!

I was under the gun and needed to convert this file in just a few minutes, X3 did the trick.

The file size difference from 32 bit to 16 bit is 51mb vrs 25.5 mb, so it does make a big difference to TuneCore.

I did bounce before there was freeze. As a matter of fact I didn't think we needed freeze because bounce was so powerful. But as usual I was wrong. Now I don't bounce I freeze except in the summer time.

    DJWayne I'm just having fun.

I use Sonar for a lot more than just mixing too. When you know a program well you can find all sorts of things to do with it. I prefer it to just about any other program even if its overkill.

Well I look at my software programs as tools in a toolbox. Ya never know what you're going to need, but it's nice to have it when you need it.

I was able to make the conversion in just a couple of minutes with X3. Try doing a conversion like that without Sonar.

Actually I made a post about 6 months ago about X2 pulling me out of the fire when our keyboard player cancelled. I loaded up some prerecorded tracks into session drummer and we made it through the gig. Worked fantastic! I'm a huge fan boy of the software.

Just did it again... I needed to convert a MP3 to a 16 bit 44,100 hertz file, Sonar X3 did the trick with no problem. Usually it's the other way around, but I only have mp3 copies of the song available, and wanted it on iTunes via TuneCore.

TuneCore requires the 16 bit, 44,100 hertz format.

Because it was so simple I decided to put up one more mp3 converted to 16 bit 44,100 hertz file to TuneCore. So I posted three singles today....good day.

Sonar is working fine for me. It's loaded with tools I'll use for years to come.

It really is a great software program.
