Minimal web browser.

I was fine tuning my X3 installation and noticed that there was a lot of activity going on with internet explorer both disk and internet access.

I tried uninstalling and loaded chrome instead, same issues with disk access and multitudes of ip ports to talk to who knows who about who knows what.

Is there a browser that just does nothing unless I ask it to find a page?

Is that too much to ask!?

...

Unless Windows is updating in the background, I would think that there is some spyware having a heyday in your computer.

If you get a packet sniffer, you can see where things are coming and going from, even though some of the addresses are spoofed. But you will know fairly quick which software is causing the problems, and remove it. In my experience, the biggest offender was Apple, and Microsoft was next. But if you have some spyware bad stuff, it will show quickly when it goes to websites that you can not find in the internet (many of those on the net to check websites and their information!).

The hard part is that a music computer, will not do as good a job with music, when its processor is tied up doing everything else in the world, except what you need and want!

Google Chrome is really no different than IE, though it tends to only bring down what you need, but if you look at the information little bar in the bottom, you will see all the adds that it is bringing up FIRST, before your own page.

The commercials first ... you at the end of the line! Now be a good munchkin and go to sleep! And stop saying bad things about two giant money makers!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!
