Just getting started

Hello,
I have decided to get more serious with making music.  I have dabbled a bit with Cakewalk X2 and a bit with Reason 7.  I am trying to decide which to focus on.  I know that Sonar has rewire support, but the best I can tell everything coming from Reason has to be done IN Reason.  I have a couple of NI vst's - Massive, Reaktor and Kontakt.  I like the Cakewalk interface, but Reason comes with a bunch of tools already built in.  Anyway, to wrap up... I know this is a Cakewalk forum so there is a Cakewalk bias, however I was wondering if someone could give me some perspective as a long term user.  I plan on working with Cinematic music, some Electro, Dub-Step and probably Industrial elements.  I play Guitar and Bass also.. so recording audio is a must.  Anyway, thank you for your time and your response.

This question is best posted in the "X-Series" forum. There are more folks going in and out of there, and many have used Reason (I personally have not).

Which version of X2 are you running?

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.
