That Which Might Have Been

I've never posted anything here, so many great productions make it rather intimidating. This is just a simple little ballad.

Hey, nice first debut.  Nice job on the tune both with writing and production. Understated piano based but nothing wrong with that.... it actually works really well for this tune.... nice strings in the background.

nice all the way through form start to finish.

be sure to post up more tunes....

very nice song, I think we can all relate to think about what "might have been" I particulary like the middle part (hope you thin about me". simple, but effective songwriting.

I agree that some productions (not mine - not yet ) here are really awesome - but the people here are really kind, they did not smash me, they simply told me what I could do to improve, so there is nothing but good vibes here!

Voice sounds fantastic, and superb performance.  I'd like to hear the piano come up a bit, but other than that I love it.  This "simple little ballad" is not simple, and is not only worthy of posting, but probably one of the better pieces around here.  Great job, and come on back often. :)

I agree with Walt, this was really a great produced and performed song. As being "simple", this is a terrific example of less is more. The singing is very tasteful and suits the song perfect. The piano pedal pauses is cutting the sound a little, maybe a small reverb will make it dissappear? And of course the solo synth violin is a big no no! More piano ballads!

Yep, good job! Nice tune. I think a bigger piano would be great on this one, but it's just fine as is too.

    James,
      Thanks.

    Lasse,
Thanks for listening and the kind comments. I agree about the synth violin, but even though I did inherit a violin from my late father, you wouldn't want to hear me play it!

    Clint,
      Thanks very much.

I think this is a very heartfelt ballad. I like the lyrics a lot. I can certainly identify with them. In the end, the only person we can save is ourselves.

Don't be intimidated by me. Lol. I'm awful. But seriously, there are all levels of musicianship here. You have absolutely nothing to worry about. I think you are very good!
