Waves Renaissance Maxx bundle. (Got my answer)

It's nice to get such a price reduction on this bundle but how is it that Waves and Cakewalk can be said to be collaborating when Waves don't even test their plugins for Cakewalk Sonar compatibility.

See email advert for this special:
" Cakewalk and Waves have put together a special holiday offer to celebrate the collaborative spirit between both companies."

http://www.store.cakewalk...ductid=30-WVRM1.00-20E

Are the issues between sonar and waves resolved now?

I can only speak for myself, but since X3c I haven't had any issues with WAVES in Sonar.

Using VST3 exclusively from WAVES now ...

Oh wait, there was one minor GUI issue with the NLS that WAVES support resolved within an hour.

Thanks for update. Hope a few others chime in because there were several reported issues with waves plugins. Perhaps fixed with X3c.??

I cannot find this special anywhere other than your link. You say you got it in an email? Why am I not getting these emails? Is everyone else?

I already own the Waves Ren Max bundle and I really like it and, yes, it's working fine for me in X3c.
I have to say though, before X3, the Waves plugs got used on everything. However, with all the new stuff we've been given in the Sonar X series, the Waves stuff sees less use than ever before.
As far as the Cakewalk email goes..... I never got it. I know a while back they had some major issues with their email where lots of registered users were not getting them. Hope it's not getting back to that again!

To all those considering to buy the offer pls note that WAVES has individual plugs and bundles on sale every month. so it's worth checking their sales or getting on their mailing list. especially the renaissance plugs are included in many other bundles, so maybe double check before you buy (you might get more for little extra money?).

Waves has been ok in 3c for me as well. I love the Renaissance bundle, I think it's one of their best value for money bundles. I use RComp, RVox and RDeesser all the time, and RBass, RAxx and IR-L somewhat less frequently. Renaissance Channel and REQ are good, but probably not really relevant anymore. The more software compressors I hear, the more convinced I am how good RComp is. For me, nothing that comes with Sonar is even close. I do also have CA2A and do think that's excellent, but a different style and not nearly as versatile.

Recently I upgraded from Renaissance to Diamond, which has also been on sale. I'm happy with the L-series especially, and there are a few other good ones in there, but nothing near the ratio of the Renaissance bundle. Just my 2c.

I'm surprised there's been no comment regarding the cooperative spirit between Waves and Cakewalk yet Sonar is not tested for compatibility. No takers?

Sonar X3c should be listed as officially supported. I've personally been in contact with Waves reps who stated this.

Well it's listed in the "supported hosts" on the Waves site (tech specs for any plugin or bundle) and it was announced in Sonar's release notes for X3c so I don't know what more you expect?

I looked at the Waves site when I was taken there from the Cakewalk site in regard to the bundle offer. At that time Sonar was not listed as a tested host. If I had found the info here I wouldn't have come here asking.
Perhaps a link from you would be more helpful than the smart Alec comment.

It's been on there for at least three weeks. I don't know where you've been looking, I certainly don't feel inclined to serve you a link because you'd rather not take my word.
EDIT: ok that was an irritated response, sorry. Seriously though, the info has been available on both sides already, so I don't think you're going to get more than that. You seemed to be asking for a rep from either company to chime in, I'm just saying it seems unnecessary and unlikely. The good news is it's all working!

Didn't ask for a rep. I just thought with something as important as this, there would be an official word. Clearly I missed the info in the update notes for x3c but as recently as a few days ago when I got the email from cakewalk, Sonar was not listed as a recommended host. I don't often come here asking questions. I spend most of my time helping others. If I ask a question it's because I wasn't able to find the answer my self.
I will continue to try and find the answer myself on the waves website.

Found my error. Had been using my phone to check out the site and the list on the page I was viewing defaulted to showing the hosts tested under Mac OS.

Having just checked it out on a larger screened iPad I can see Sonar listed in all it's glory under the Windows Hosts.

Waves is working well under X3c. I have all of the plugins and they work without a hitch. X3c is a 'gold' release to support the Waves plugs. They are a good sounding group of plugs.

I had them all too, at one point in time. Then I bought them, and now I have fewer, haha.
Use them a lot more and more effectively though.
