Going from X2 Producer to X3 basic: can I still use X2 Pro stuff?

You probably think I am nuts but I am considering upgrading my X2 Producer version to X3. So not Studio or Producer but the basic version. The thing is: I notice I use Sonar in a very simple way. All those extra and pro plugins are wasted on me. In fact, I never liked the Pro Channel because I don't use it and it only gets in my way. I simply record my tracks using a few VSTi's (mainly Komplete 8, Dim Pro, EZDrummer and MusicLab guitars) and I mainly use the Sonitus effects. So... why the heck should I pay 100 bucks more for stuff I won't use and that, as I said, even gets in my way? (I really wish I could remove the Pro Channel from X2... I dislike it so much for some odd reason that even if Producer would cost as much as the basic version, I'd buy the basic version... I told you I was nuts LOL).

However, I would like to use a few things that come with X2 Producer, like Dim Pro, VVocal but also the Pecussion and Vocal Strip and well, maybe a few other things in the future. So my main question is: will ALL the stuff I got with X2 Producer work in the basic version of X3? Or are those plugins hardcoded to only work with a Producer version of Sonar?

I bought X2 shortly before X3 was released and I simply don't want to spend 150 euro's on it. 50 euro's for the basic version is great, though, specially considering the overall improvements.

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

This is a very similar thread about using the X3 Producer plug-ins in another DAW. You would have a similar experience except it would be with the X2 series of effects/synths. I am not sure if V-Vocal would work maybe someone with first has experience will weight in.

Thanks, I will check out that other topic!

    EDIT
Read the topic but it's another story, really. I don't want to use X3 plugins in other DAWs but X2 plugins in the basic X3 version. Thanks for the heads up anyway.

Anyone else who has experience with X2 plugins working in X3?

Sonar 8.5 PE, Edirol FA-66, Behringer C-1. All instruments in my songs are VSTi's.

According to the Comparison chart, X3 basic does not include the
Pro Channel.  So you would have to buy the X3 Studio version
if you want to use your X2 PC plugins.  I seem to recall that Beepster
    inquired about this also.

The only REAL issue doing this is you lose the Producer Upgrade path...
so if that's not a big deal, then it should work.

I think losing the ProChannel won't be too upsetting in this case http://forum.cakewalk.com/FindPost/2936847. That is why I posted what I did above. The plug-ins in the OP with the exception of V-Vocal are all Cakewalk VST plug-ins which are not locked to SONAR Producer. Somehow though, there is a perception that plug-ins that have been included for years in several versions of Producer are different in X3. I am not sure why one would think that was the case.
