Music Creator is not properly installed

I just picked up Music Creator 6 Touch from Steam, installed it, and as I was going to use it today, I get a message at the main screen telling me "Music Creator is not properly installed. Please reinstall it using your original CD. (Code=1)".

I do not have the CD, as I have downloaded it from Steam. Any help would be wonderful!

Install it as the ADMINISTRATOR.... not as a user.   I think you right click on the icon to start the install and select run as admin....

see if that works. Be sure you have your serial numbers and such handy for when it asks you for them, you will need to input those numbers to authorize and validate your software.   Be sure to store that info in a place that is secure and you won't forget where you put it 2 years from now. I recommend a hanging folder or manila envelope for all your studio software and hardware info.

Running/installing as Admin does nothing. And again, I have no serial number since I got it from Steam. Even when I right click to view the CD key, it just sits there and says "Requesting CD key".

You always get a serial number. Even from steam.  Check your email carefully and look in the spam folder as well.  Sometimes that email gets tagged as spam. That happened to me.

If you can not find it, contact Cake support immediately and they can help you either find it or resend it to you.

You need that number to complete the installation. Nothing is wrong with the install. Once you input that number correctly, the software installation should complete normally.

Once you get that number PLEASE save it in a secure place AND go to the cakewalk registration page and register that software. It keeps your numbers and also a record of all the software and add-ons you buy complete with all the serial  numbers.
