Loving Sonar X3

Hi everyone.

The first biggie for me is that the graphic bug which I could not get round (X1, X2, X2A) where clicking on console channels in one monitor with pro channel open in the inspector would crash has gone.  Short Step Sequencer / PRV  loops drifting over time - Gone!  Those two were the main problems for me.  I create a lot of loops for live use on an RC-50, and for whatever reason had trimming problems galore.

The comping model makes sense, and seems to work.  The smart tools seem a little smarter.

I tried the Blue Tubes goodies.  They seem to work, haven't needed them yet - Pro Channel all the way so far.

I really, Really like Addictive Drums, enough that for first the time I will be forking out for extra kits.  What is really nice it that you can be set up to use all individual outputs, and I can auditions kits without it reverting to just left and right - SSD and SD3 both had that problem.  The drum controls work pretty well - I like the envelope but would like an actual gate (over it for the moment).

Everything seems to just work for me -  I do have the 64 bit console emulator buzz thing, but not a show stopper.

The link is to my first X3 project, and the video is using  the X3 project as a backdrop - usually I am spread over 2 monitors.  It is not supposed to sound like a CD product.  I have a version that has no vocal or guitar which I use as a backing track, so the final compression stage is on the live console. It helps to bind the live and recorded parts together.  Also the performance is virtual - I play in my have and broadcast to Second Life - so most of my audience are wearing headsets

Anyway, I mainly wanted to say nice job.

Cheers

Grif

Nice Grif. Keep jammin!

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

Ah Second life

I remember installing it... 3 days later I was still playing it, it consumed me. As soon as I woke up to this I uninstalled it never to be installed ever again... too addictive! Lost souls were emailing me saying "come back come back"
