They've changed the dates they update now because people knew the dates. Most cost effective way is to update on these type of sales every other version.

I don't see the US price but it's usually matching numbers.

So basically $200 for an update from Komplete 8 Ultimate. Seems worth it to me since I was already considering upgrading Battery, plus I would really like Session Horns, Monark, Rickenbacker, Scanner etc. Lots of stuff I don't have that's worth way more than $200.

Kontakt is on sale for $199.00. Good price if you don't have it. (I don't....yet)
I've been mulling over the idea of Komplete Ultimate lately, but decided there's too much stuff in there I really don't need.
Might go for the Scarbee Ricky and The Giant though at the very least. (Don't need Kontakt for those.)

You're right SH1. I was seeing the Komplete 8 to Komplete 9 Ultimate price.
 
Still, $200 is just above no pain threshold. There's very little of what I don already have since I got a lot of the "new 9 ultimate" stuff already.

And now the question... To move to Ultimate or not?

For the most part, I'm not that impressed by what is included in Ultimate. I just don't see that much that excites me. Everything I said "WANT!WANT!WANT!" to was in the standard Komplete. However I am a MASSIVE sucker for sales...

was about to jump on ultimate but kenetic metal was on my list so ultimate + kinetci is 340 Euros (more than 400 $) so at the end i might wait again for ultimate 10 and wait for the summer sale .....****y marketing scheme !!! it's basically buy all or get fuked up !!

I just reminded myself that there is nothing in "Ultimate" that I actually want or will likely use.
 
However, the chance to upgrade from Komplete 8 to Komplete 9 at $75 is a great value for me.

Same here.  I'm getting the upgrade to Komplete for $75 and Sessions Horns for $49.  Still less than the regular cost of the upgrade.

I don't have any versions of Komplete (yet), but do have a bunch of items from NI that I purchsed individually (Kontakt 4, Prism, Battery 3, the mouth, Reaktor 5 etc....) and my crossgrade price for K9 is $199.50.
 
I'm thinking of getting this deal AND later on, selling those individual pieces. Does anyone know if NI still makes this possible or do I have to jump through a lot of hoops to sell them?

You can ONLY sell products that you got media for. IOW you CANNOT sell downloaded products (unless that has changed in the last year).

Come on NI... don't you want some new users?? I was about ready to jump until I realized there is nothing to entice new users... alas... I will wait.

You can ONLY sell products that you got media for. IOW you CANNOT sell downloaded products (unless that has changed in the last year).

Downloadable products *can* be sold.  I have sold and bought some in the last year.  You contact NI to de-register the serial.  You give it to the new user who contacts NI with the serial to get the downloads.
