Straight from X1 to X3 ?? Bought X2 but never downloaded or installed.

I finally got off the fence and took advantage of Melodyne and Addictive Drums, two programs I have wanted for a while. (Really the visibility of Craig Anderton got me off the fence, the Melodyne offer lit the fire)  I did some searching but didn't find anything definitive about whether X2 has to be installed.  My upgrade was based on having purchased X2.  Currently using X1 with most recent patch. (I assume)

Thanks

You do not need X2 installed to install X3. The one thing that shipped with X2 that is not part of X1 or X3 is R-Mix.

BTW, you can skip the DimPro download. It is the same as X1.

AND, you will be installing X3a, and while there is an X3b and an X3c, the X3c patch is cumulative, so you can apply that without bothering with the X3b update.

When you do get to X3c, you may want to temporarily turn off the 64-bit double precision processing (which is not the same as the 64-bit Sonar).

Also, you may want to get Windows up to current maintenance levels prior to the X3 install, and also I recommend temporarily suspending antivirus software prior to the install, and lastly to right-click on the Sonar installer and click on Run As Administrator.

I believe Session Drummer and Rapture have also not changed, nor I believe has Perfect Space.  (someone please correct me if I am wrong on any of that).

Rapture definitely did not change. Don't know about the others.

Very helpful.  Update Windows 7 huh.....  I haven't so much as thought about that since my new machine, I cant believe it's been two and a half years now.  I've been so happy with everything just working.....

The minimum maintenance level for any version of Sonar beyond X2 is Windows 7 with Service Pack 1.
