New studio! Acoustic treatments...

Hey folks, so I'm moving my project studio into a new 32'x15'x8' room (yay!) that is basically a concrete box. But now it's of course so much bigger. Most of the time it'll be just me working in the box and occasionally some vox...on rare occasions some guitar players and whatnot.

Anyhow, I now have to setup the room acoustically. I've been pretty thoroughly reading all the usual suspect sites out there (Ethan's site, all the great Gearslutz DIY links) and spec'ing and pricing building some DIY acoustic panels. Now of course I can't cover the whole joint in 703 or some alternative material, so now I'm trying to figure out the most essential places to get.

The way I see it now, I think I need: 2 corner units, 2 "front wall" panels behind the monitors, 2 side panels, a ceiling panel, and 2 4' panels behind me, that can move around when I need to track someone. I figure the back panels will help negate needing corner treatment on the back side of the room and along the rest of the wall.

But I dunno...do I have it right?

Damn that's a big room!  (Too bad the ceiling is a little higher though...)

I don't know anything about the costs involved, but I do know that Aurelex has a room analysis option that you can find HERE.

    Good luck!

Yeah it's a huge room. I think once all the gear is in and stored, and I put a couch in the back of the room, it'll get a little more homey. But sheesh my current studio is an 8x8x8 cube! It's more like a cell.
