Happy 42 U.A.E.

A happy 42nd national day to the United Arab Emirates. This country is 16 years younger than me.

Here in Dubai the party is in full swing. $100,000 plus cars parading around, decorated in national colours and the kids on the street spraying party string through the windows! Earlier we watched the Red Arrows do a display above the beach. Europeans, Indians, Pakistanis, Chinese, Filipinos, Africans as well as Arabs all getting into the spirit of things.

I was first here in 1981, they have come a long way in that time. Like most places its not perfect but light years ahead of many of their neighbours. I like this country.

    Hi,

Just remember ... bedside manners are extra!

    Without your passport, of course!

As a wise Guy once stated from his holy chapala ... none of the hits, none of the time ... prevents you from becoming just another turkey in the middle of all the other turkeys!

Yes, nice avatar.  Greenslade, I think.  And Roger Dean, too?  It's been years since I've seen that cover.

Online (red) Avitar is part of the cover of Greenslade's "Bedside marrers are Extra", the Offline (Green) Avitar is part of the cover from the self titled first album. - An yes, by Roger Dean.

Cool.  A friend of mine had the first one and we listed to it so much that I never thought to get it for myself.  I might have to look into that.
