Do you use TX16Wx software sampler ?
Got curious, after an update from the KVR newsletter.
What can you do with this ? Do you get the free or the pro version ? Looking forward for some insights. Thanks!

I downloaded it a while back and played around some with loading the samples and such but I could never get any sound out of it! Maybe someone can help with my problem. It looks a little like VSampler and I used that for years in another studio. I was hoping I could resurrect my custom sounds for VSampler with the freebie version but no luck so far. I might try to play with it again some today. If so, I will let you know. It looks to be a very good sampler. If it doesn't work I guess I'll have to update to Kontakt 5.

I am just starting to use it. The previous versions had major memory errors. So far so good . Will take bit to get used to . I have the free version for now until i get firm grip on whether it is a long term solution. I like short circuit a lot but its only 32-bit. Theoretically it is a notch below Kontakt, but more powerful than your typical rompler in terms of pure sampling. So far I have been able to create a multi-output layered drum kit. COming to terms wit hthe interface is a challenge. Even resized, there are parts that seem too small. Slicing is not very intuitive to me , but it is a feature.

Thanks for the replies. Shall find sometime to test it out soon. Surprisingly I've only found one youtube video of TX16Wx which only introduce it briefly.

TX16Wx VST is/was based on the hardware Yamaha sampler. should be plenty out there that is similar and applicable to the VST. I used the VST a couple of times but in the earlier version I ran into crashes and bugs. Then I got Kontakt and just moved on. If E-MU had continued supporting and one was able to purchase Emulator X I would go that route in a heart beat. that plugin was feature rich and nice, but it's so buggy from what I hear that it's not worth it on newer Windows. I don't know of many sampler VST plugins that actually sample now that are around. Kontakt doesn't, Mach 3 doesn't. They have features of a sampler but it's mostly post sample editing, scripting etc. I miss my EMU EMax II hardware rack so badly with that wopping 10 meg hard drive, I thought I was in sample heaven. ahhh for the old days.

Casio FZ1 here, circa 1988 I think? Still works great! You save sounds on 3.5 floppies and reload them from there when you boot it up.
Sittin downtown in a railway station one toke over the line.

I use it the odd time. (free version.) For what I've used it for it's worked fine. Wish some of the GUI buttons were a little bigger, but I won't complain much. Someone put a lot of work into that to offer it for free.

I finally got audio out of the freebie! This things looking better and better. A lot of work re-building those VSampler instruments, though!

Pretty well sums up my experience with the free version.

The interface is better than the original version, but I have to agree, that is the biggest knock for me at this moment. There are just areas i strain to read.

If it wasn't for Windows Magnifier, many plug-ins would be useless for me.

I occasionally configure my 3rd screen.. a 21.5" to run at low resolution (1280 x 720) for viewing small interface.

Tried the free one once, it flaked out on me. Don't really need it, since I already own Kontakt and it'll import most of the libraries I would want to use.
