Roland UA-4FX issue

Hi 

I recently bought a  second hand Roland UA-4FX, and installed it like the Readme said i should do. 
It seemed like it installed as it should at first, but when I opened my sound manager in control panel, and when I clicked on the "recordings" tab, it freezes up, crashes and gives me an error message saying "windows shell common dll has stopped working".
Spotify, WMP, Media Player Classic, and seemingly everything related to sound crashes when I try to use it.
 
I'm running Windows 7 64-bit, btw.
