MIDI Sequence is silencing Dimension Pro

Hey,

I can't figure this one out...

I can insert Dimension Pro into my project and have it work just fine.  However, once I import or paste a track from a particular midi sequence that I downloaded into the same track (that was working) it becomes silent.  I can see the meters jumping but I don't hear anything.  All of my routing appears to be correct. What's going on here?

Thanks.

Open the imported MIDI in the Event List view and check for controllers, especially CC7 = Volume, and CC11 = Expression with low values.

While in the event viewer, check for RPNs or NRPNs (Those letters but I forget the order or not). You can delete those.

Save the project "as" something else before you restart Sonar. That way if that was not the problem, you have what you started with.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

    Thanks for the suggestions.

I deleted all of the non-note events in the Event List and it still did not solve the problem using Dimension Pro.

However, I inserted some different soft synths and was able to get it working.  Seems to be a Dimension Pro thing.

Hopefully I will be able to work around it and get satisfactory results.

    Thanks.

Total wild guess but check to make sure the key range of the dim pro matches the . Key range of the midi file.

Can you post the midi file somewhere?

Could it be a midi channel issue where Dim Pro is set to channel 1 and the data is set to something else?

The same here with UVI workstation, but I sorted it out. It was simply a midi channel issue.

Dave are you sure you deleted all the non note events in the Event list. They are usually all at the start. I was working on a project a while back using Session Drummer in 8.5 that is and it was doing the same thing. I found there was a slight bug. When I first opened the Event list none of that non note information appeared at the top of the list. But when I scrolled down a little and back up all the non note info appeared again. After deleting it Session Drummer played the file normally. This may or may not be your issue either just thought I would mention it. It may have been fixed in the X series too by now.
