I'd love to see a tutorial on programming realistic sounding drum parts in the PRV, particularly when it comes to humanizing timing and loose-playing.

    Hi Dan,

I am still working out the right workflow to use take lanes with drum tracking and editing.  I'd love to see some of your ideas on how to do this as part of Drum Month.  Just walking through an effective work flow with a typical drum session would be great.  For example: 1) tracking multiple takes, 2) comping, 3) editing (e.g., moving notes around within take lanes to fix timing issues, and copying and pasting from/to different sections), 4) comping using edited takes, 5) using slip edits and cross fades within takes.  Ideally this would also include a video of your screen.

    Thanks!

+1. And you gotta show us what the take lanes are doing, no cheating! ;)

Is it non-standard for the Project Templates folder to be in:
    C:\Cakewalk Content\Sonar X3 Producer\
    instead of
    C:\Program Files\Cakewalk\Sonar X3 Producer?
As long as they work, I suppose it doesn't matter.

    Thanks for the templates, Dan.

    Thanks for the templates, Dan.

You can place Project Templates into any folder you wish. You just need to then alter the path to them in Preferences>File>Folder Locations, to wherever you put them.

The default location for them is:

    C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\Project Templates (or X1, X2, etc)

Just make sure you keep all of your templates in the same location, as you can only specify one location path.

If you guys own a version of X3 and are still not getting these in your account then please forward me your current email address. There may be a glitch in our database when we distributed them for some accounts.
    Thanks!

The default location for them is:

    C:\Cakewalk Content\SONAR X3 Producer\Project Templates (or X1, X2, etc)

Thanks, Bob. The readme needs a bit of an edit then, for we who are not 100% up-to-speed.

Can they be put into a sub-folder, to help differentiate them?  I was wondering if the Sonar startup dialog would allow you to drill down and select them if so.

One way to find out I suppose... :-)

    [edit]

If put into a sub-folder, then the startup dialog does not allow their selection.  However, then can simply be opened subsequently of course.

They are project templates for Session Drummer 3 and SONAR - So if you have both of those then it should work fine.

It would not surprise me if these templates worked in 8.53 as well.   There are no pro channel effects and all of the effects used are available in 8.53.
