Will adding an often used sample library to my boot SSD impact X3's performance?

Honestly, I'd probably take a cheaper 120 or 160 GB disk as boot SSD and use the 512GB one for samples exclusively. I have a 120 GB SSD boot drive on my laptop and my desktop and while space isn't limitless, it's no chore to keep some free space. I use other drives for recording, documents and content.

I did put my Maschine core library and a bunch of expansions on there, maybe 20GB total, and did not notice any significant drop in OS or DAW performance. I put them on there because I use them a lot and I only have one SSD in each computer (other drives are regular).

Once you've tried an SSD, you'll never go back.
Everything is snappy, programs load in an instant, boot takes but a few seconds.
 
On my 120gb ssd, I've three partitions :
C:  the OS
D:  my programs, utilities, etc.
E:  Sonar and all its accessories including all my samples.
 
I keep all user related data "My xxx", Mozilla profiles, etc.  on separate HDD drives/partitions for each user.
You'll really appreciate the time it takes to load large samples and drum kits off an SSD.

No, it will not affect X3's performance.

I guess it depends on what we mean by performance.  For one thing I figure I'm part of the performance picture and if I can work faster then so does X3.
 
I also doubt everything you need in a project is loaded into memory up front (?), so wherever the pieces are gotten from will affect performance until everything is in memory.  And new stuff that gets added certainly won't be.
