Interactive Music Video

Hey Everyone,

I'm back again with something new... this is the first of three interactive music videos off my Echoes In The Dark album I released earlier this year. This first one, for the track "Reveal" can be checked out at the link below. It's made with Flash so desktops/laptops only (no smartphones/tablets for now). Check it out and let me know what you think.

David, Nice colors to play around with. Pretty interesting interactive, especially when clicking and holding down and doing figure 8's. Of course the music brings it all to life. Nice little idea and it was fun playing along.

Peace and Blessings, John

Thanks John. Always appreciate your comments. My favorite is making diagonals :-) Always seems to make really cool effects.

I'll be posting the next two on next Thursday and the following Thursday... They're all different takes on the same kind of concept, using different tracks from the album and different shapes, colors, and unique effects.

Very trippy. Took me back to my "early days".
Nice idea, interested to see what the other tracks are, and what else you can do with this.
Music very much suits the idea too.

Haha thanks! You can check out the other 2 interactive videos which are now live (I should have posted something in here but I'm slippin... must have been the Holidays that made me forget haha). They're all in my Videos section of my website at http://www.bydavidrosen.com/videos/ which also has some regular music videos too. My flash guy and I are slowly but surely trying to come up with something totally different for the next album later this year.

Enjoy and thanks again for checking them out :-)

Great song. Very well done as far as mix and master. Liked the instruments.

Right on thank you. I tried to make this Echoes In The Dark album sound the best I could possibly make it. It's even compressed to 128kpbs i think in the interactive video for loading purposes so it should sound better on the album ;-)

But yea, I've been at it for around 15 years (Cakewalk as my DAW the whole time!), so I figured I waited this long to finally make an album of instrumental music, I might as well make it as good as I can. Glad you liked it.

That was fun and interesting.  The graphic display and the music seem to go together, well.  After I turned the volume up, I could hear the mix and arrangement working together.  Music like this doesn't need to be over compressed or limited so they breathe and have depth.  Yet, I think you can still get a few more db's out of this without killing the dynamic range.  All in all, very cool!

All the best,
Lynn

Thanks Lynn. Yea because of the size of the flash file I had to compress it some in the interactive video, but it should sound even better on the CD. I tried to do my homework when mixing and mastering the tracks :-)
