$50 upgrade = all registered users?

Since Cakewalk is doing it's usual and typical sloth-like response to support emails, I thought I'd check here to see if any users know the answer to my question:

Cakewalk is offering a $50 upgrade to X3 and it's described as being for all registered users (so it's not a bad deal!). I own X1 so it sounds like it would apply to me, but before I pull the trigger I wanted to check and make sure I qualify. Had anyone else with X1 or older brought this upgrade?

It clearly states any registered user in the shop. It is the bum basic version though.

You qualify but make sure it is the version you want. This would typically be the upgrade from X1 Essential. If you have Studio or Producer, you may want to investigate upgrading to the like X3 version. http://www.cakewalk.com/p..cts/sonar/versions.aspx

It looks like the basic version which means it's no deal unless you haven't upgraded in a while.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Thanks for the feedback... I wasn't aware that the $50 upgrade is for Essentials. I own X1 Producer, and following your link I see that an upgrade for me would cost $199. As Guitarpima wrote... "no deal"!

SONAR X3 is now a very powerful version. That's why we eliminated the name "Essential". It's unlimited tracks, 64-bit, VST3 and has all the same core features as Studio and Producer (comping, Smart Tool, etc).

If you already own SONAR X1 Producer and have all the ProChannel modules, may I suggest SONAR X3 Studio for $99. It has Melodyne Essential with ARA, Blue Tubes FX, all the new workflow features. And of course the ProChannel which will allow you to keep the existing modules you have.

+1 indeed! I've finally got myself going with X3 Producer. Well worth the $199 IMHO.

Go for Producer if you can get it.  It's well worth the money IMHO.  The Melodyne ARA integration is worth the price of admission alone not to mention all of the other stuff (Addictive Drums, etc.).

I started out with nothing and I still have most of it left...

I am getting ready to upgrade from 8.5 finally.  Is there a holiday deal on upgrading to producer or do I have to pay the full $199.  I have moved a few times and I no longer get Sonar postcards with deals. :(      looking forward to getting the upgrade and having some Holiday Fun!!!
