Help request

http://www.mesaboogie.com/Product_Info/Out_of%20_Production/Mark_IV/mark_iv.html

I'm recording from the quarter inch out on the back of the amp above into my ucx.

Should I use the high z instrument setting?

Btw the show is about to start.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

    Ok it is on.

The band is over 130db at the back of the bar. Do I tell them?

This is a jazz trio? Is this like some heavy metal jazz or something? I'd say as long as the crowd appears to be enjoying themselves, and it's not messing you up in any way, just roll with it.

Due to signal level, I had to disable the instrument setting on the guitar.

Yep jazz trio. Drummer is good and enthusiastic. I got the levels all set and then he put away the brushes.

It is just the decibel Meter on my phone. No idea how accurate it is at high volume but it gives me a point of reference.

My usb cable is running under a dishwasher rug to the stage and people keep stepping on it. I sure hope that isn't going to mess up the recording.

Should the mike go near our away from the hole in the back side skin of the kick drum?

The hole is a hair bigger than the mic itself. I'm afraid of puffs from the hole.

I think probably away. You might have a point about the puffing.

I just had to activate the dB pad on the quad mic pre. Too loud without it.

It's back to way loud again. Always after a set break, volumes climb.

Hope I've been some help. So the drummer has a mic hole in the backside head on the bass drum? I don't think I've ever running across that before.

Oh no... I had a little feedback running FOH for our church today. We had our children's Christmas play today, and there were like 10 mics sitting all over the stage. I was busy, I can tell you that! :)

In this case, it was the guitar player and bass player intentionally feeding back their instruments.
