If I click in the same spot I get like 10 more items in that list. Each of them a submenu with one pedal in them (flanger, delay, etc.).
So perhaps something went wrong with your installation?

hmm

What version Sonar X3 do yu have studio or producer?

I think producer version has a lot more pedals than studio version bundled in - I come to conclude studio version stinks

but hey how can I confirm if my installation went wrong because I did select to install full version...

From the manual:

"TH2 Producer by Overloud provides realistic guitar amp models from clean to crushing distortion.
This special edition includes 10 amplifier models, 10 cabinet models, 10 stomp box effects models, 3 microphone models, delay and reverb master effects and dozens of presets. Easily build or modify your own signal path.

TH2 SONAR by Overloud provides realistic guitar amp models from clean to crushing distortion.

So I'm guessing that maybe Sonar Studio doesn't have any pedals.

I thought it had some, but just fewer than Producer, but the manual mentions nothing.

I think I'll look out and wait the sale price before X4 is ready to come out to upgrade to X3 producer  TH2 in Studio version of sonar X3 is hardly even worth using without the pedals

IDK, Studio comes with several compressors, delays, eqs, saturators, reverbs, modulators even an auto wah plug-in. Even without a few more pedel style effects, I would think the amp sim and cabs in TH2 Studio would be a useful addition.  The effects in the full version of TH2 are OK but are easily replaceable.

Re: TH2 Sonar X3 Studio, where all the pedals? 2013/12/16 19:25:49 (permalink)
If you really feel the need for the pedals you can't beat the full version. Also in the full version is the best amp sim they have which is Brunetti. Those amps and pedals are amazing. I have said before, just the Brunetti amps are worth the upgrade.
Even if you just use the amps you have they are well worth keeping. I tend to use the amps in overdrive instead of using the distortion or overdrive pedals just as if it was a real hardware amp head. I have always used this approach. Even with Amplitube and Guitar Rig. It feels to me as if the amp SIM responds more realistically used in this manner. If you use them this way you can always use the FX bin to use any other FX you wish. Things such as delay, chorus, compression, etc.
That is the way most session guys record with the hardware gear. You take a good amp and mic it with a good mic. Then the delay, chorus, flanger, etc., is added in the fx buss. This way you will always have the original un-effected track so if you want to change any of the FX after the initial recording of the guitar, you can do so without re-recording the track.

From the manual:

TH2 SONAR by Overloud provides realistic guitar amp models from clean to crushing distortion.
This special edition includes 10 amplifier models, 10 cabinet models, 3 microphone models, and dozens of presets. Easily build or modify your own signal path."

I don't think I have anywhere near this amount of amp models (there are only two), cabs (1 cab) and mics (don't even see any mics, just the two hanging over the cabinet) - is there anyway I can check to see if they have been installed properly?

Double click on the cab (in the bottom view) and it will open several "boxes" where you can choose your three mikes, mic distance etc.

All of the amps, cab and mics are in drop downs inside the amp and cab objects. Notice the two drop downs under the A and B. This allows a choice of amp models with a slider between them to mix the two amps.

Open the cabinet up to choose the different speaker and mic settings

There is quite a bit of horsepower in this stripped down version. I think you'll get the hang of it. BTW, you can also adjust the mics by left clicking and hold on the mic you want to move and just move the mouse. Release the button when it's in place. This is very handy as you can hear the timbre change as you move the mics around.
