Difference in X3d patch download speed.

I tried downloading the patch by using the updater found in X3 and the download speed was awful.
I killed the download, restarted my internet hub and then came here and used the link.....and it's now a 7 minute jobby.
We'll never know if it was the hub rebooting, time difference or different link, but it pays to experiment!

Grum.

It's being served from AWS so shouldn't be anything on our end. Maybe try it again.

My "7 minute jobby" referred to the increase in speed (as in it only took seven minutes once I tried again).
Unfortunately in my excitement I've just chucked a cup of coffee over my desk and made a mess!

    Exactly the same here grum!!

First time it said time remaining 6 to 9 hours . I killed Chrome, reloaded it & started again and it was all done in 7 minutes

And is it just me, or is this particular forum pitifully slow? It's been a lot slower the last few days, but tonight it's just awful!
I can access other US based sites with no problem - they're responsive & snappy, but this one is like being on a modem. I'm on 120Mb download speed from my ISP

It's never that fast. You would think Amazon would be lightning, maybe time to go with Azure (on a sidenote, just got my copy of Visual Studio 2013 - yey! Double Christmas).

The forum is as slow as a slow thing...very sloooowwww.
I've been using the time to convert my Pod Farm and Elements back to the same settings as they were in version "b".

Just remember folks that you don't need to "Force stereo operation" - you just have to disable "Enable mono processing".

Thanks for the feedback - we'll investigate.

Nope not just you, there has been a lot of traffic. We will be updating the forum software to the latest, greatest (and supposedly asynchronous) version very soon and we're going to deploy it to a larger server

maybe time to go with Azure

.... never they still lack some basic features like restricting/enabling access to VM's via IP addys.

    Peek Definition is awesome.
