Missing Plugins
Hello all! I recently upgraded from Sonar 7 Producers Edition to Sonar X3. For reverb in 7 I was using the Lexicon Pantheon plugin that was included. In X3, this plugin is not included. Luckily, I was able to install the plugin, but after opening a project started in 7 with the new X3, it is still telling me that the plugin is missing. Is there a way to direct the program to this plugin, so it knows where it is installed? Thanks for the help.

You will have to go in your preferences menu/vst plugins and rescan your plugins. This should help. Or reset all plugins first and then scan them again. Everything is on the preferences/vst page.

Hey Cowboy Dan. Thanks for the suggestion. I've done the things you suggested, but unfortunately, it still shows that it is missing. It is possible that I don't have the plugin installed to the same directory as before when Lexicon Pantheon was included. Is there any way to tell what the install path was for lexicon pantheon in sonar 7? Thanks. Scott

If you have the plugin it should be in sonar X2. You could always look there and also in preferences /vst settings in X2 to see the paths for scanning in X2. You could also look in C:\program files\cakewalk\vstplugins to see if the .dll is in there for your plugin.

Hey man. Thanks for the help again. I really appreciate it. It seems ive got the plugin to work now in cakewalk x3, but unfortunately it is creating an unnatural hiss. Is this a sample rate issue? The rest of the tracks that dont have the lexicon pantheon plugin on them sound fine. Any idea what this issue could be?

Have you installed the X3d update? If not go to preferences/driver settings and uncheck th 64 bit double engine and see if that helps.

Lexicon Pantheon (and the Sonitus) are DX plug-ins so your scan path doesn't matter, and even if it was a VST it's normally installed in your shared Cakewalk's 'Shared Plugins' path which the plug-in manager auto scans anyway. Are both 7 & X3 the same bit level i.e. 32bit & 32 bit, etc.? If not, you will have to install the Sonar 7 plugs in 64 mode (or 32 if applicable) to match your X3 installation. Sonar can only see DX plug-ins at the same bit level - in other words the 64 bit version can only see 64 bit DX plug-ins and the 32 bit version can only set 32 bit DX plug-ins. Edit - never mind. Sorry, I missed reading the post were you said you could see it and it was working. If you can see it in Sonar or in the Plug-in Manager then it's not a bit level issue.

Hey Dan. I have not installed the update, but I am downloading it now. Also, the 64bit double engine box was already unchecked so I left it alone. Thanks again.

Have you still got Sonar 7 on your system? The answer you provide will give us a clear way forward, no matter what the answer

Unfortunately, I don't have Cakewalk 7 installed on my computer. Can anyone think of a way to fix this issue? Thanks!

Ok, maybe I should have been a little clearer. Do you have access to any version prior to X1? You'll need it in order to reinstall Pantheon.

3 Suggestions - Reinstall the plug-in.
You can reinstall the Sonar 7 plug-ins without reinstalling Sonar 7. Try installing it again & see if it fixes your issue. - If you're using non-standard audio settings (i.e. something other than 16 or 24 bit and 44.1k sample rate) try creating a project that does and see if you still have the issue.
- Contact Cakewalk tech support.
Perhaps there was an update to Lexicon Pantheon post S7 that they can connect you up with.
And if none of those work, maybe you're just SOL (sorry); move on.

Yes, it will need to be reinstalled from a pre-X series version of SONAR. Make sure to run the installer as administrator and install the appropriate version(s) (i.e 32bit for 32bit SONAR, 64bit for 64bit SONAR). It may also require SONAR to run as administrator to run the plug-in after it is reinstalled too.
