OK, This is Driving Me Crazy - Missing Inst in Export
I frequently export to wav and mp3 using Live Input. Some synths (soft synths and external synths) are not recorded or frozen, and they come out just fine in the mix.
I exported a song, then remixed it a bit, and tried to export it again. Suddenly, the RealGuitar track is missing on the export, even though it is clearly there when I just play the project.
• I used Select All and double-checked that the RealGuitar Audio and Midi tracks are selected.
• I tried freezing RealGuitar but that does not fix the problem.
• Anytime I play the project, I hear RealGuitar. Anytime I export the project, it is missing from the mix.
• There are other soft synths that are coming out fine—the Scarbee bass for example.
• I am using a saved Preset that I always use when exporting.
I have checked this project 50 times and am going a bit crazy. What am I missing or overlooking?

Hey Konrad,
what scook says.
What is the audio output of RealGuitar set to ?.
What is the "Bounce Settings Source Category" drop down set to (Tracks/Busses/Main Outs etc) in the export audio dialog ?
If you can hear RealGuitar and it's selected, it's routing must be bypassing the export target somehow. Maybe straight to the main outs ?.
I don't think the "Alt Select" of Bus/Track to highlight the routing was in X1 ?
I use that to check routing when something doesn't appear to be as it should to me.

RealGuitar is routed to Master like the other tracks. I can hear it when I play the project. If I solo it, I see it metering on master. Other Live Input is being recorded. I have used my standard export settings (saved preset) and also tried Sonar's built in "Wat You Hear" export. I have exported this file before and it was fine and I have not edited RealGuitar. Freezing RealGuitar does not help.
This is the title song of an album so this is really a problem.

Hey Konrad,
try saving the project to a new name so you've still got a copy of your project as is.
Then insert a new instance of RealGuitar, copy over the MIDI track and any settings, prochannel etc. and see if that works.
Just mute and archive the original first.
Let us know how you go.

Hey, Cliff. I just got it fixed but have no explanation for what happened.
When exporting, the MIDI faders feeding RealGuitar were going to zero. (There are two MIDI tracks: one for notes and one for keyswitches.) Oddly, this only happened during Export and not when playing the track normally. There was no automation on the tracks in question.
I used the mouse to click them to nominal position and the problem went away.
Very strange but OK now.

Ahh, cool to hear it's going !
I've got myself in a pickle a couple of times when moving the mouse and accidentally clicking something without realizing it, or hitting some hotkey.
Just wondered, did you get a second drive set up yet ?.
I was thinking if you're cutting an album you probably don't want to be mucking around with your system though.
