But be ready to have to re-authorise/activate some 3rd party plug ins. (It doesn't tell you that bit)
Really?
I performed the steps outlined by the article a few weeks ago and none of mine needed re-authorising.
Do you have any specific examples paulo?
Yup......
EZ Drummer, Superior Drummer, BFD Eco, Sampletank, Miroslav, EastWest Colossus, Omnisphere...........
Had particular problems with EZdrummer getting it to stay authorised afterwards. Kept putting in the auth code, it was accepted and would work fine. Close project, open again - Not Authorised ! Had to completely uninstall and re-install in the end to get it to stay authorised, all of which was a PITA as I don't even use it any more really, but just wanted it there for the benefit of revisiting older projects that may contain it.
None of these issues existed prior to taking the re-set vst advice when X3 vst scan kept missing Sampletank and Miroslav even though they worked fine in 8.5PE.
Got there in the end, but Miroslav will still only work in X3 32 if I open as admin. X3 64, no problem. X3 also doesn't like LP64eq in older projects for some reason and I keep getting messages on opening projects that contain it, that it's not there, so I have to remove it from the fx bin, add to fx bin from menu again and then it's ok, except settings have gone obviously.
Again didn't seem to be an issue before the re-set.
