Amplitude 3 as a plugin

Hi, first time posting! I know this question has probably been posted here constantly, but ah well... So I downloaded the free Amplitude 3 program, and running it on its own works fine. Then I tried to add it to Sonar X1 LE as a plugin... I followed all the instructions, and it appeared as a plugin, but when trying to use it I was told it hadn't been installed correctly, at which Sonar crashed. What have I messed up?

Works without issue for me.  Did you reset and re-scan your VSTs from the X1 preferences?  I'm assuming that you installed both Sonar and Amplitude using an account with admin permissions and run as administrator.  Amplitide needs to run the first time on a user ID with administrator permissions.

Thanks! I tried that, but during the scan it told me that the Amplitube 3 plugin was not installed correctly... I guess the best thing to do would be to just reinstall it, but I'm confused because it runs fine on its own (amplitube I mean)

Ok, I've re-installed it, made sure it is properly registered, and made sure both Amplitube and Sonar are on accounts with admin permissions. I'm at the point now where I can find Amplitube with my plugins and add it to an effects bin, but whenever I try to use it, I am told it is "missing or not installed correctly". Again, is still runs fine on its own...

I'm wondering if you might have more than one Amplitube3.dll installed on your computer.  What directories are showing in your VST path (edit->preferences-> VST Settings ->VST Scan Paths).  Which of these directories has your Amplitube3.dll in it?

Also, when you scanned your VSTs, did you have the check in the "Rescan existing plugins" and the Rescan failed plugin" check boxes?

I've made sure I only have one copy of the file, and now the correct file is being scanned. Now, however, as it is doing the scan it warns me that Amplitube 3 is not installed properly and will make the system unstable. If I choose to ignore the message and use it as a plug in, Sonar crashes. I found some other advice that told me to install it as admin, but that hasn't really helped either...

Thanks in advance, I'm sure this is just me being stupid!
