Sonar X3 Studio x64 - Rewire Grayed Out [Solved]

I purchased and installed Sonar X3 Studio from Steam and I own Reason 7. I've been searching online for the past 2 hours to resolve this issue, but I cannot.

My problems comes from opening Sonar X3 in 64-bit mode and trying to open insert Reason 7 as a Rewire device. I do no have an option since the 'Insert Rewire' option is grayed out.

Everything else works fine.

Some Probably Not Need Info:

Sony Viao Laptop

Windows 8 x64
Intel Core 15-3337u
8gb RAM
M-Audio M-Track Audio Interface
Sonar X3 Studio
Reason 7.0.1

I don't use Rewire, but do have X3.  When installing X3, did you use the default, or custom/advanced installation?

If you used the default, I suspect you need to instead do the custom or advanced, and make sure you check the box for Rewire support.

(Also, when installing X3 and Reason, do so with "Run as Administrator").

Good luck.

Hi!

Thanks for the reply, but your method hasn't worked. I've reinstalled both applications in multiple ways, but I still cannot get Sonar X3 to recognize Reason 7. It was previously able to recognize it when I launched Sonar X3 in 32-bit, but no longer. It's kind of a bummer that I'll have to wait until Monday to reach tech support over the phone. I'd rather that than email responses.

Are you also running the x64 version of Reason? Both client and host must use the same word size.

Hi!

Yes, I am running both clients in 64-bit. Sonar just doesn't detect Reason for some reason. I'm starting to suspect that it might have something to do with the Sonar client being installed through Steam. I'm a huge gamer and usually by software I use through Steam whenever I can. Sonar was perfect for me since I've been using a freeware version of Sony Music Maker.

Hey! Surprised to see an email about this topic. I found some help about a month after I posted this, so I didn't bother editing my initial post. The problem came from Steam's version of Sonar and something, something 64-bit something. Read it all here: (The forum edited out my URL like because of my newish status) steamcommunity dot com/app/241070/discussions/0/630800442990465622/ It's a simple fix, instructions are pretty clear.

I got it solved, so I was happy. :)
