Group-Replacing Console Emulation in PC (Recipe)
using Quick Group I can swap and set all my selected tracks with the same change across all with Ctrl... Except for the Console Emulator Bus module... Maybe more but all others I have tried work fine.. I can even ctrl-adjust to change setting on the CE across all the tracks but not this one item... Open PC with Console Emulator Bus on all inputs (I know - see my other post regarding PC defaults) Click-drag across the track numbers to select all tracks Ctrl-Enable (or not) the plugin hold ctrl while clicking thru replace module and select Console Emulator Track Expected: CE Track replaces CE Bus on all selected tracks Actual: The replacement only happens on the track where I am performing the operation... the other plugins/tracks do not change. I performed this operation many times today trying to be certain I did it correctly and my m.o.d. worked for all the other PC modules I replaced... Anyone? Keni

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what you're asking/saying but you should be able to quick group and change the console emulation model across all tracks or busses. It has always worked for me.

Hey keni I believe that the Console Emulator Bus is only for busses. You also have one for tracks. Could this be the problem?

The fine point here is that quick grouping works on elements of the same type. For example, if you quick group something on a track it affects other tracks, but not buses. Ditto if you quick group something on buses - it doesn't affect tracks. To me this is desirable behavior, as buses and tracks have different functionality...if I have everything set up just the way I want on send buses, I don't want quick grouping something on tracks to alter that.

Thanks... I know I should and it works fine with all my other modules, but it's not working for the CE Bus/CE Channel...

Thanks Dan... I'm aware of it and when working on some 8.5.3 created files, I found that they are defaulting to bus plugins as default for the PC... Which then lead me to discover that the replace function isn't working grouped for that one module (bus) as I have not tried starting with Channel and attempting a replace... (Group) Keni

Hi Craig... I must have missed something in this thread... Or am I in the wrong thread? After finding bus modules defaulted to tracks, I proceeded to replace each module and all wnt well except for replacing the CE Bus with the CE Channel.... It would not replace on the other grouped tracks... I tried this several times to make sure I was doing the same process for the other modules which worked.. Please note that adjusting these modules worked for the group... Only replace and I only when I was trying to replace the CE bus with the CE channel on the quick grouped tracks... Do I take you to mean that it wouldn't work because one module is bus and the other channel? Then why did it work for replacing the bus compressor? Keni

Does delete module work when quick grouped? Then use insert module? Just a thought. Form our other thread it does look as if something odd is happening. I don't have any Sonar 8 projects lying around, but might be able to find some Sonar 6. I'll have a look when I get a chance, Keni.

Hi jb... I'll try that to know for a workaround... I've already manually done each track on each song for this project... I could also simply load a preset I created... ... Keni

Actually, I'm the one who missed something. I didn't read carefully enough, I thought you were trying to replace the CE Track AND Bus modules with the same type.
