Bus, volume, pan
Sonar x2 producer & latest update. I created 2 bus' and they are working fine. Problem is with the tracks that the bus' point to. Pan and Volume don't work correctly. Pan on the tracks doesn't work at all and the volume barely works. Am I doing something wrong or is the way things work? Oh, I used Pan on the bus' location to solve that but it seems it should work at the track level to me. Thanks.

Are you routing the audio to the busses via the track output, or are you doing it via a send?

It should work on the track level. Hard to trouble shoot from afar, but here are a couple of things to check for: 1) Any type of effects or processes on the track or bus that alter panning. 2) Any effects or processes that convert from mono to stereo or vice verse.

I have Guitar Rig 5 on the 2 busses and that is it. Thanks for your reply.

Have you enabled stereo within Guitar Rig (make sure both L and R are turned on, just to the left of the input meter)?. It defaults to mono.

Hi Chas I might be way off here, but I noticed on your screenshot that the two guitar tracks both contain stereo waves. From experience, I've sometimes experienced some panning weirdness when I've accidentally recorded stereo audio tracks instead of mono. Did you record the two tracks in stereo deliberately - in other words, is there different information on each channel? If you accidentally recorded in stereo instead of mono, try bouncing the two tracks down to mono and see if that solves the problem.

Steve, I converted a couple of the clips to mono but still get the same results. I deleted the buses and afterwards the panning and volume work as they should at the track level. Then I created a new bus but get the same results as before. So I must be doing something wrong somewhere when I create the bus. Will tinker around some more. Thanks for your reply and suggestions.

Well, I tried another plugin (reverb) instead of Guitar Rig 5 and it works as it should. So it looks like Guitar Rig 5 is the problem. Don't really know why at this point? Will tinker around some more. I am in stereo with GR5. Anyone else have any problems with GR5? Thanks.
