save asset manifests with projects???

Anyone know what this is?
 
I was working in the X3d Preferences > File > Advanced and saw this at the bottom of the list. The box is checked but I have no idea what it is or what it does. Checked the Help file and it does not show up there. Checked the user ref. and nothing there. Did a Google search and nothing shows up there.
 
So, curiosity has the best of me and I would like to know what this secret magic box is for. Perhaps something to do with crash reports sent to Cakewalk?

Thanks scook! I have not used gobbler yet but at least now I know. Probably my last accomplishment for 2013, Curiosity Satisfied about the 'save asset manifests with projects' box in preferences.
