IK T-RackS - Recommended?

This suite is $39.99 at Sweetwater.  Money well spent or don't bother?

At $40 its a steal. Top quality stuff IMHO. Some people object to the "custom shop" licence manager but its pretty unobtrusive IMHO.

I love T-racks. You'll want to download the free T-racks CS from IK and register it. Then authorize your copy of t-racks classic. Open T-racks CS and open the Customshop window and click restore gear. That will unlock your copy of Classic into the new 64bit T-racks CS. You will also be able to use all of the processors as a single vst.

Did you not see the Total Studio sale a short while ago? If they repeat that then that would be the best way to buy t-racks stuff. $84 for all that.

That price is good but is the smallest version of t-racks. The total studio has the deluxe in it.

I got the T-RackS Classic and had a chance to use it yesterday.  Think it is exactly what I need to add some polish to my projects.  Maybe the Channel Tools and the VC-64 would get me there too, I'm using those, but I'm already glad I got T-RackS.  Thanks for the advice.

I highly recommend the video "Mastering with T-racks" from Groove3. I watch it pretty often for little reminders.

I'm a big fan of the T-Racks gear myself. Great stuff all around. I'm not sure about the quad stuff though. Maybe when I do some mastering again they will prove their worth but I'm not using them in mixes. All the other compressors are outstanding.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Yup, I usually use the more traditional compressors and stay away from multiband compression as I usually don't need it, but the Quad Image is great on acoustic instruments.

Yes, sadly, they make great products.  They just don't support them like they should.
But don't let that stop you.  Everyone loves to wait 10 years for upgrades...
(Yes I know T-Racks was upgraded to the Custom Shop recently and went 64 bit)
But that's the first upgrade for it in several years other then minor "point" adjustments,
which are "fixes" not upgrades.

T-Racks 3.0 was release in 2008, T-Racks CS was released in 9/2013.  That's only 5 years
for it to go from 3 to 4!!!.  At least it wasn't 10 years like SampleTank, so, I guess, in that aspect,
it's half the dev time.  Always a great business model - especially when most shoot for 1 to 2 years.
And NOW they have "gear" so they don't even have to do a version increase.  Every time a
new piece of gear comes out everyone can exclaim UPGRADE while IK exclaims BANK!!!

Que sera sera....CAVEAT EMPTOR.

T-Racks has been added the the Custom Shop. Meaning it has been updated more times since it has been added to the Custom Shop than the previous years. Its an easier way to do updates, add new gear and features.

SampleTank 3 is on its way. Sorry its causing you so much stress, but don't worry we'll be presenting the new SampleTank 3 at NAMM.

I remember when T racks first came out and was considered a toy and a good way to ruin your mixes.  That was awhile back.  Sounds like they've got things on track.  Need to check it out again...   I want to think that was during the "Cool Edit" days too... before Sonar.

ah...not sure I agree with that...but there was a lot of "defining the field" for sure. A lot of Mac applications were taken pretty seriously.  Mobile music came out with the transister radio in the 60's.  Sony Walkmans picked up the ball for a bit too.

Additionally... when T-Racks first came out, I don't believe there was much tweaking involved either.  It was therefore looked down upon, that you can't just run a mix thru an electric juicer and have it better. Kinda in the ballpark of those $119 rack mount jobs, of the day.
