Pattern X3

When i copy my pattern using ctrl+drag, it doesn't start (when played)from the beginning of the pattern. It tends to jump a few notes instead of playing from the beginning of the new pattern sets. How do I fix this?

The original pattern plays fine then it goes downhill from there.

Either your snap settings are wrong and you are dragging it to the wrong point on the timeline or you should check your MIDI buffer settings (assuming its a MIDI pattern)

You should be snapping to a measure and not 1/8, 1/16 etc

MIDI buffer settings can be changed in preferences... Its hard to tell you whats going wrong without some more information.

Is it a MIDI pattern? What are your snap settings? Have you got SMART tool on?

Yes I will check when I return home from work. Snapping could be the issue and yes it's midi. I figured it would play  no problem like the first pattern, but it always go downhill from there.

I would zoom in and make sure the clip has been drag copied to the measure rather than an 8th or 16th or if snap is even on at all.

Snap is ok etc the first midi plays fine  and the second skips a drum note and the 3rd patterns plays fine. I don't know if it's the bpm or what, but it's noticeable with drums, it skips on second pattern like first few notes.

Try changing your Midi buffer settings.

Preferences > Midi > Playback and recording and then the playback box, try increasing the number there...I have mine set to 1000ms after having some midi playback issues of skipping beats.

I think Marky's on the right track based on the last clarification of the issue. I would just add that the old (pre-X1) default value for Prepare Using buffers of 500ms should do the trick, assuming it's at 250 now (X1 and later default).

    Glad its sorted

To be fair, its not a Sonar "issue", its just one of many tweaks to optimize your DAW experience. Some people need to change MIDI buffer settings, others do not.
