Glad I could help! As you can see from my sig, i've got a 44VSL. Works the same way as the 1818VSL.
Not a bad little device once you get it working.
Regards,
Dan
I finally got to mark your earlier post as helpful... It was very much so... Stupid iPad doesn't give me the helpful button....
Yeah, the Presonus gear is quite good and then manages to sell it for very reasonable prices... I like this company a lot and have been using their hardware for many of my clients...
Most of them with simple AudioBox USB, but I do have one student who's using a 44 as are you... I also arranged for one band on my label (Sign1Nine - Tho back then the band was different personnel and called Blue Voodoo) to buy a 16.4.2 as they needed a new PA board and I recommended it so that we could live multitrack... which we did for a year or so before the band re-formed... Recorded their first album with it and now finishing their second album done with it...
I bought the 1818 back in 11/12 when I was gifted a Mac Pro with dual Xeon quds 3.2Ghz and 16GB RAM... My then current interface was a collection of Soundscape (now SSL) Mixtreme 192 cards for 16 i/o each... The card is separate from the ad/da converter box which sadly was only 20bit... But still sounded great. Too bad the interface never got advanced to the newer OS that came out.... I tried hard but couldn't find a way to run it...
The 1818 has been running like a champ and sounding great, but now I was gifted a 24.4.2 StudioLive which cleaned up my studio a lot. I added one Soundscape ad/da converter (24/48) which added another 8 line inputs via ADAT for a total of 16 i/o with additional preamps... I've been using an old 40 input D&R Dayner console which sadly is in need of retirement and was the center of so much noise and problems that it was driving me insane... Tho I must admit I don't ever have a long drive to get 'there'! ;-)
My only disappointment with this range of their gear, it that it only supports 44.1/48... while that's fine for much of this work, it would be nice to move up to 96/192 but I'll face that issue in time...
Thanks again for helping me finish up a very over-extended install! Have fun making music! I hope you create music to Rock the World!
