I bought a Philosopher who asks the wrong questions
He was on sale. I think he had been returned. He walks around asking questions like, "What is the meaning of creamy peanut butter?" or "What is the nature of Reality TV?" Sometimes the question starts out like it's going to be thought provoking, until it takes a left turn. "If you could peer into the collective consciousness of humanity, where are the Cheetos?" It's like a whole new level of "Huh?" Even though he was really cheap, I'm beginning to regret buying two of him.

I dunno Bubba. Those questions are MUCH more thought provoking than the ones I've heard from conventional philosophers. But I've been smoking a lot of killer ganja lately, so take this with a grain of solidified sodium. Randy

You can't buy a philosopher because money is an abstraction of value in a world with no values. And there's no money in philosophy anyhows. You may have bought a sophist though. They are cheap and plentiful - particularly between election cycles. I'm not 100% sure about any of this, but that's what the tree in the forest told me when I wasn't there to not listen to her.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

craigb (depressing comic!)
You know, a lot of people also thought Sam Kenniston and many other comics were depressing, and I was thought, that above all they were right on, because they had their heads screwed on, and here we are ****ing about nothing, and thinking the grass is supposed to be greener on the other side and that you are tired of your current **** -- be it a she or not! Philosophy, is for people that don't believe in communication and have to put everything neatly into little boxes, because they never believe in anything except some ideal, or book they have in the way of the reality. You either care, and appreciate it for what it is, with you in the soup, or you are just ****ing! And that goes for the 9 to 5'rs as well!

I always thought that kids made the best philosophers. "Who are you?" "How did you get so old?" "What's that thing on your face?" "Why are you fat?" "Where are we?" "Are we there, yet?" "Why do we breathe?" "Where do you go when I dream?" "Why?" Then, we send them to school and they spend the rest of their lives trying to recover from it.

Coincidentally.... Earlier today, I saw a German philosopher out buying fruit and vegetables.
I'm pretty sure I've spotted a Nietzsche in the market.

Karyn, I think the only difference between the two is that one is very impressed with themselves for being Profound. The other one is strapped into a booster seat and is throwing plush toys at the back of your head.

This one's going into my best-forum-quotes collection. Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, 'Where have I gone wrong?' Then a voice says to me, 'This is going to take more than one night.'" - Charlie Brown

Craigb, I keep watching that over and over. I mentioned this to someone and he asked, "How do you know that the you that just watched the video is the same you that watched it the first time?" I had to put him down.

I studied philosophy at University. The finals exam was a piece of cake, which was a surprise... I'd really been expecting some questions on a sheet of paper.
