I want to record 32+ inputs on a laptop

I do live work every week (church) and I record via multi-track so I can remix before we post the services to the web.  Currently I am using two laptops with  two 16 channel interfaces.  Is there an interface that will do 32+ analog channels or some interface that has "stackable" drivers so I can use more than one interface?

Focusrite Saffire Pro 24 and the Pro 24 DSP are stackable you can hook 2 up and it is built for it (16 in/8 outs).

you could just buy a Forusrite Saffire 40 and stack um (20 ins/20 outs).

even the top of the line pro Focusrite interface is only 28 ins.

32+ simultaneous inputs is pretty tough on a laptop.

you might want to look into something like the Mackie 3204VLZ4 32 channel mixer with usb interface.

I've looked at the Focusrite stuff, but to stack them, you have to have FireWire and that's nearly impossible to find on a Windows laptop. Most laptops don't even have a bus slot to plug a card into anymore. As for the Mackie, doesn't that just record a stereo mix from the main bus of the mixer?

I know Roland's new boxes are supposedly stackable, but with the move Cakewalk just made to Gibson, my confidence isn't too high with Roland's recording division.

Worst case is that I shell out the cash for a tower and put RME cards in it.
