Upgraded to X3
I've upgraded to X3. When I was using X2 I upgraded my Overloud TH2. Now when I open X3 it seems like I have the entry level TH2 showing with maybe around 30 presets. I know there was a lot more. I have the serial # in my account for the upgrade. Also my account is showing other options like XLN Addictive drums, Dimension 1.5, Meloydyne Essential, Rapture 1.22. I can't find Addictive drums. All these options have serial #'s and Regcode's. and fall on the same date that I upgraded to X3. Did these programs/effects automatically upgrade into X3? Or do I have to open them somehow and put the serial #'s in? Thanks for any advice or suggestions.

Used the registration info in your Cakewalk account to install Addictive Drum from the XLN site http://www.xlnaudio.com/en/install. This information should be in your Cakewalk store account in X3 download file 05_XLN_Audio_Addictive_Drums_Download_Instructions.rtf Melodyne is part of the SONAR X3 install process. The installer will guide you through the registration process. There is no need to download the DimPro files (or Loops and One Shots). They are the same as X2. If you do download and install DimPro, you will need to re-register the product. Rapture is the same as X2 too. If you perform the basic install of X3 expect to re-register that product too. TH2 Producer is the version that ships with X2/X3 Producer. If you purchased the full version of TH2, it was a download directly from Overloud and uses a separate installer. If it is installed and not showing up in the effects list verify the the path to the TH2 dll is in the VST scan path. Also make sure to follow these instructions after the upgrading to X3.

I had to redownload the TH2 producer presets from my account, otherwise mine was the basic also.

I'm still not finding my TH2 upgrade in X3 (it does show in X2 which I still have) so I'm going to try and re-download TH2 again as DaddyV suggested. Should I uninstall TH2 first or is it ok to just redownload and run the program without uninstalling? And scook, I'm just not sure how to "verify the path to the TH2 dll is in the VST scan path" ... thanks for suggestions

If it is in X2 it should show up in X3. Especially if you followed these instructions after the upgrading to X3 because the reset/rescan affects both X2 and X3. Make sure you are using the default plug-in layout. TH2 should be in the Audio FX VST2 section.

Scook, when you say to use the default plug-in layout, you're meaning what I see in the view to my right where my audio effects and instrument effects are. I've opened the VST2 drop down list and I see several options starting with addictive drums, cakewalk sound centre, dimension pro, lounge lizard...etc. But no TH2 in the list. In that same area I can click on Audio FX and the list begins with Amp/Tape Simulation where I click to find TH2 producer 64 which is the basic but not the upgraded TH2 .... still searching...

This is the area it would be in. In X3 the default list in the browser is first organized by plug-in format VST3, VST2, DirectX, FX Chain and External Insert. Select the plug-in layout by clicking the down arrow next to the Plugins tab in the browser. The popup menus in the FX bin and Inspect show the Audio FX plug-in layout option first, then VST3, VST2, DirectX if the default layout is selected. TH2 should be in the VST2 section.

Scook, I finally found it. When I clicked the down arrow next to the Plugins tab the "manage layouts" was defaulted with a check beside "x3producer effects" and also "sort VST3 Plugins by Category" It wasn't until I checked "X3 Producer Effects" that the TH2 I was looking for was there. This may seem like an obvious solution to most but sometimes it's really frustrating to get what you're looking for. Thanks so much scook. I can relax now until the next thing drives me crazy...lol

Correction on last post...I meant it wasn't until I checked "Default All Plugins" that my problem was solved and I found the VST2 with the TH2 upgrade I had in X2. (not x3 producer effects) as I wrote in previous post....

That sounds better. It had to be a layout problem because the plug-in was visible in X2. The plug-in manager is shared by all versions of SONAR. The "Default All Plugins" layout is the only layout built on the fly from all the enabled plug-ins. Glad you got it figured out.
