I just try the download link again, after you get to the FB / Twitter share page, just press FB share (didn't try with Twitter). The actual download / registration page will appear.
 
The FB sharing shall be opened on another windows - where you can further select Cancel / Share link option. Just cancel it there.

Now I need to buy me a video camera of some kind (any suggestions?). I wanted to get this for my daughter. She has an interest in movies and shows. I've always tried to tell her that she just needs to start somewhere. This should be a good way for her to see if she likes the process.

Great way to kickstart a young mind.  Cameras are tricky.  I'm a firm believer in use whatever budget allows. Believe it or not, smart phone video cameras are very functional for those with no budget.  The main challenge is stability.  I purchased one of these http://www.amazon.com/iStabilizer-Mount-Smartphone-Tripod/dp/B0056C4VRK/ref=pd_sim_sbs_cps_3 to demonstrate what a smartphone can do if proper;ly mounted.
 
If you actually have budget for a camera and she is interested in movies, DSLR's are a great way to start.  They have some drawbacks, but for the price, they offer a practical tool that can always be used to shoot great stills if interest in video diminishes.  The canon t series (t2i, t3i, t4i, etc) offer high def video that has a look closer to film than traditional video cameras in the same price range.  The footage is compressed (like video cameras in the same range) but I doubt it becomes a concern until she is ready to shoot a blockbuster movie and even some of those have been shot with DSLRs (Act of Valor for example).  DSLRs can be had in the $400-$800 range.  There are more advanced versions but most of the features you get for the money are mostly geared towards high end photography rather than video.
