mouse/pointer freezeing
good morning all, every now and then my pointer/mouse freezes where I can't do anything, sometimes if I just wait it starts to work again however when i'm in the middle of something I don't want to loose my train of thought so I have to reboot the computer. does anyone know what i'm talking about and how can I fix it? thanks

Does it only freeze in Sonar? Does it freeze in every project, or just freezes in one particular project? What is the sample rate and bit depth of the project? What is in this project? I would say that your Pc has met its limit and you may need to adjust some settings to fix it. ASIO, WDM, Buffers, too little ram, so on) OR, it could be a rouge non native plugin or many instances of one plugin. Who knows as you need to be more specific about this. CJ

+1 You don't say if this is only happening in Sonar or not. I'd bet if you were looking at a resource meter when this was happening it would show your CPU usage it's at 100%.

Ahem, 30 years, only in Sonar, ya... I had it happen twice today and I wasn't in Sonar either time. But I was thinking of Sonar during one of the times, even had one of the twenty tabs of my Chrome browser open to the Sonar X forum while I was debugging an Email server app I built for a client. Maybe if I had been thinking about baseball or porn instead...

?? Let me spell it out : I've been using mice for about 30 years or so and no program - until Sonar within the last year - has ever messed with my mouse.

Then you are extremely blessed. To never, ever have ever had it happened before (except as you noted within Sonar last year) - truly blessed. For those of use who either have or have had to use systems that are far from state of the art, have multiple USB devices (drives, etc.) attached to our systems or just push our systems really hard - it happens. BTW in what manner did your original comment help the *OP? *who seems to have abandoned his own thread...
